Harvey Dunn Society Plein Air

Our 18th annual “Painting on the Prairie,” South Dakota’s longest-running plein air event, is located in De Smet, Laura Ingalls Wilder’s “Little Town on the Prairie,” and near the birthplace of famed local artist Harvey Dunn. This 4-day event is open to all. Free registration includes workshops, demos, and group painting events. The weekend culminates in an art show, wet sale, and award presentation. Come paint our picturesque prairies and historic landscapes.
